This exhibition was created in several stages. The original travelling exhibition ‘Ice Age Art’ was designed by the Arbeitsgemeinschaft Weltkultursprung Ulm. It is located in the centre of this room and was supplemented in 2022 by the ‘Primal Forms’ segment, which allows visitors to experience Palaeolithic statuettes from all over Europe up close.

The Ulm exhibitions were extended in 2023 by the large inclusive component ‘Ice Age Art at your Fingertips’ from the Württemberg State Museum, whose stations are arranged around the room.

For the presentation at the Bavarian State Archaeological Collection, the exhibition was supplemented with replicas of Bavarian finds, the originals of which can be admired in the permanent exhibition.

This short audio tour was developed by the Württemberg State Museum for the two inclusive components from Stuttgart and Ulm.
